About this experience
Tbilisi is not only lace balconies and appetizing khinkali, but also unique applied arts. At the master class in the art studio, you will learn about the techniques of batik painting and cloisonné enamel, and then create a cozy Tbilisi souvenir with your own hands - from a stylish t-shirt to a decorative pillow. And, of course, you will hear many interesting stories about life in Tbilisi over a cup of Turkish coffee with a piece of Gurian mchadi.
What to expect
Best handcrafted Tbilisi souvenir
Meeting at the workshop in the heart of Tbilisi, we will talk about Georgian applied arts and their place in the culture and mentality of Sakartvelo. Then for 2-3 hours you will immerse yourself in the creative process in the art studio. Together with professional masters, you will learn the techniques of batik painting and cloisonné enamel, and then create an original sketch based on the symbols of Tbilisi: traditional ornaments and Georgian alphabet letters, pomegranate motifs, images of houses and balconies in the Old Town. And afterwards, you will take home a hand-painted scarf, bag, magnet, decorative pillow, stylish t-shirt, or phone case, which will preserve the warmth of your hands and the character of Tbilisi.
Cosy atmosphere of the Tbilisi workshop
You will not only enjoy the creative process, but also immerse yourself in the cozy daily life of the workshop: chat with amazing masters and designers of Tbilisi, hear extraordinary stories from the lives of Georgian artists. The hostesses of the workshop will be happy to reveal the secrets of their craft, and just chat about Tbilisi life over a cup of Turkish coffee or a shot of homemade schnapps with a piece of Gurian mchadi.
