We will stroll through the ancient Taksim Square, the Balat district, visit toy and illusion museums, and end the program with an acquaintance with the underwater world of seas and oceans in the Aquarium. You will learn curious facts from the history of Turkey and see the 'other' Istanbul.
What Awaits You
City Tour by Ferry and on Foot
Our tour will start with a visit to the ancient Taksim Square. Along the way, you can try goat ice cream. Then we will walk around the Balat district: its blocks will amaze you with architecture, colorful facades perfect for photo hunting, and atmospheric cafes. Here you will see that 'other' Istanbul - vibrant, stylish, and charismatic. We will also visit the Greek Lyceum - the oldest and most prestigious Orthodox school in the city - and talk about how future ministers studied. While cruising along the Bosphorus, you will see the palaces of the Ottoman Empire and hear the story of the construction of the world's largest Orthodox cathedral.
World of Toys and Illusions
We will diversify the walk with visits to two museums - toys and illusions. Kids will learn what children played with centuries ago and experience firsthand how different human perception can be. Optionally, we can visit Madame Tussauds Museum and see wax figures of world celebrities. And finally, we will stop by the Aquarium, admire stingrays, colorful fish, and 'immerse' into the secrets of the underwater world.
Organizational Details
- You can start the program from Taksim Square, Balat district, or Greek Lyceum, according to your preference
- The tour will be conducted by an experienced history guide. The program is aimed at children aged 8 to 14.
- The tour involves walking and public transport. The tour can be done by Mercedes Vito car for an additional fee of 160 euros (prepayment of 40 euros).
- Entrance tickets to museums and public transport fares are paid separately
- Upon request, after the walk, the guide can arrange a seafood dinner for you. Cost and details are to be clarified in the order correspondence.
Museum Visits
- Toy Museum (Tue-Fri 10:00-18:00; Sat-Sun 10:00-18:30) Students, children from 3 years old, pensioners - 30 TL. Adults - 55 TL.
- Illusion Museum (Mon-Sun 11:00-22:00) Adults - 129 TL. Children aged 5 to 18 - 90 TL.
- Aquarium (Mon-Sun 11:00-19:00) Adults - 350/315 TL when buying at the ticket offices/online. Online registration is required for online payment. Children 2-12 years old, students, teachers, disabled people, people over 65, veterans - 300/270 TL when buying at the ticket offices/online. Children under 2 years old enter for free. Birthday celebrants also receive a discount on their birthday.
