About this experience
For kids, Istanbul is a window to another world, mysterious and unfamiliar. Like a bright kaleidoscope, colorful streets, delicious food, and fresh sea air blend together here. I will create an unconventional route for you so that the kids don't get bored. I will add fascinating stories about the city and show you the best sights to complement your family vacation.
What to Expect
Fairytale City, Dream City
Among the most important landmarks of Istanbul are mosques and towers, palaces and temples, parks and museums. And this is just in the old part of the city! While parents strive to visit as many places as possible, children get tired and start to get bored. I will arrange a family walk around the city for you — easy, interesting, and informative. You will see how curiosity lights up in the children's eyes, and questions will flow!
What Will Amaze Kids in Istanbul
- Galata Tower — we will see where the very first flight was made on homemade wings. I will tell you how the scientist Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi came up with the idea to fly over the Bosphorus and why the sultan first rewarded him for this feat and then sent him into exile.
- Iron Church — we will discuss how the only Orthodox church, entirely made of metal structures, appeared and what it has in common with Yaroslavl.
- Greek Lyceum — we will find out what subjects had to be mastered to become a minister or vizier, and how long the school day was for Ottoman students.
- Museum of Illusions — we will feel how deceptive what we see can be, and learn to look deeper into the surrounding world.
- Boat trip on the Bosphorus — we will look at the city spread out on both banks, feed the seagulls, and cross from Europe to Asia in 15 minutes.
- Aquarium — we will discover the amazing world of seas and oceans and get acquainted with the diverse inhabitants of the depths.
