About this experience
Join us for a warm and soulful tour. You will explore the ruins of Zvartnots Temple and admire the panorama beyond its columns, visit the world's first Christian cathedral, Etchmiadzin, and learn about the religious history of Armenia.
What to Expect
Soul and sanctuaries of our country
The tour will start with a visit to Zvartnots Temple - with a poetic translation of the name as 'Temple of Vigilant Angels'. The place is no less inspiring: the ruins of the early medieval structure with several columns are still felt with the grandeur of Zvartnots and the harmony of the temple with the breathtaking views of the mountains.
Next, we will head to Vagharshapat. The first stop here is St. Ripsime Church, named after an Armenian martyr. The guide will tell you about her story and the architectural features of the church, which has stood on this site in its original form since the 6th century.
Of course, the program includes the Etchmiadzin Cathedral - the main church of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the world's first Christian cathedral. You will hear its history and learn about the birth and development of Christianity in Armenia.
❗ Etchmiadzin Cathedral is under restoration, only exterior viewing is included in the program.
