About this experience
In the century before last, the Grand Boulevards were the epicenter of the vibrant artistic and cultural life of the city. While strolling through the most atmospheric streets of the French capital, we will visit special places and talk about the unique Parisian world of visual arts, cinema, and photography.
What to expect
Our walk will start with the dazzling Paris Opera, officially named the Palais Garnier. And you will see that the imperial theater, built as a palace, is not inferior in beauty and drama of its history to the palace in Versailles.
We will continue the tour on Capucines boulevard where in the second half of the 19th century the art of photography developed, modern painting was born, and an entirely new art form--cinema.
Academic artists and rebellious impressionists, famous courtesans of the 19th century and public houses, boulevard theaters and Russian seasons in Paris, all of them and many others will become the heroes of our 2-hour play entitled "Splendor and Burlesque - the history of the Grand Boulevards".
