About this experience
The capital of Andalusia Seville can rightfully be considered one of the most hospitable and "tastiest" capitals of Europe. The city's favorable location and ancient culinary traditions allow you to enjoy a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste: meat and seafood, fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits, cheeses, renowned wine brands, and exquisite desserts. On this tour with me, you will taste classic Sevillian tapas, seafood, and sweets, learn about the history of Spanish gastronomy, the culture of 'tapeo,' and its curious features.
What to Expect
- The tour will start in the Jewish quarter of the city, where you will try several traditional tapas and, climbing to one of the city's terraces, admire the view of the Giralda and the third largest cathedral in Europe, sipping a glass of wine, a beer produced in Seville, or a cup of coffee.
- On one of the typical narrow Sevillian streets in the old town, you will taste orange wine and learn why millstones are built into the walls of some houses.
- On the way from the center to the city's gastronomic mecca, we will stop by a Seville bar decorated by bullfighting enthusiasts, where we will choose traditional Sevillian tapas according to your taste.
- Not far from the city hall, seafood lovers can enjoy the freshest shellfish and prawns cooked a la plancha.
- We will not overlook a bar with the curious name 'Slavanka,' winner of several tapas competitions.
- Sweet tooths will be introduced to local pastries and the works of the confectionery art in one of the oldest and most iconic pastry shops in the city, which has its own interesting history.
- We will end our gastronomic walk on the famous Alameda de Hercules, as all paths of Seville's snack lovers and gourmets lead there. An abundance of bars and restaurants, unusual presentation of dishes, a mix of traditions and new trends attract both locals and city guests.
Throughout the tour, I will talk about the culinary traditions of the Spaniards, how the country's history and religious fervor influenced gastronomy, why some Spanish dishes have such funny names (Holy Bones, Angel Hair, etc.), what other cold (and delicious) soups besides gazpacho you can try, and much more. For those who enjoy cooking, I will gladly share recipes of local cuisine.
As a result, surrounded by the city's beauty, you will gain a complete understanding of the culinary culture of Spain, learn about the gastronomic features of Andalusia, taste delicious dishes, and discover the addresses of the city's best establishments where you can go on your own after the tour.
