About this experience
Being in Seville, you will definitely feel like you are at a royal celebration. And the whimsical buildings, monuments and temples, secret symbols that are found everywhere in the urban environment, will introduce you to the history of the capital of Andalusia and reveal its changing character.
What to expect
Seville as a center of culture and art
The walk will start in the shadow of the largest wooden structure in the world, which the Sevillians, in their habit of giving everything nicknames, called "the mushrooms". As you explore the shopping streets, you will hear the history of the capital of Andalusia, understand why Seville is considered one of the most important cultural and political centers of Spain. Near the Church of Christ the Savior, we will be able to peek into the Orange Courtyard, which in Arabic times was used for ritual ablutions.
From Cervantes to Carmen - the main characters of the city
At the monument to Cervantes, you will learn that it was in a Seville prison that the genius began to write "Don Quixote", and in the main square next to the town hall, you will meet the founders of the city and reveal the meaning of the inscription that is found everywhere: from the manhole cover to the coat of arms. We will not bypass the fountain where the local football team celebrates victories, and admire the "Golden Tower", built without a single gram of precious metal. We will visit a tobacco factory where the events of Merimee's novella and Bizet's opera "Carmen" unfold. And we will also walk around the "Plaza de España" - a pavilion built at the beginning of the 20th century for the Ibero-American Exhibition.
During the walk, you can use an audio guide that will allow you not to miss the smallest detail in the story and enjoy the history of Seville.
