Sevan - Armenia's main beauty
The azure pearl of the country and the largest lake in the Caucasus, framed by mountains: Sevan will captivate you at first sight with picturesque views. But not only that, as on the peninsula on the lake you will visit the Sevanavank monastery. In its churches, I will tell you about the ancient history of Sevanavank and about khachkars, traditional cross-stones, with special attention to one of them - the Savior.
Haghartsin Monastery - Symphony of Nature and Architecture
This is how the guides describe the monastery near the town of Dilijan. And they do not deceive! Here, in the wooded valley of the reserve, you will enjoy the harmony of the surrounding mountains and the work of ancient architects. You will be transported back to the times of Haghartsin's construction in the 10th - 12th centuries, learn about the princely Bagratuni dynasty and about the secrets of these places. And also get acquainted with architectural details: in this sense, the refectory is especially interesting.
After that, you will stroll through Dilijan itself - a cozy resort town with recreated 19th century streets and a monument to the heroes of the movie 'Mimino'.
