Sequoia National Park: Visiting the 3000-year-old Giants
About this experience
Contemporaries of Rome, they witnessed the birth of Antiquity. Reaching heights of up to 85 meters, they approached the Babylonian tower. And the width of their trunks was enough to make a home for people. All this is about the wooden 'titans' of the planet. Giant sequoias. Today they grow only in the protected groves of California, in the Sierra Nevada mountains. This is one of our favorite national parks in the USA, and we would be happy to introduce you to it!
What to Expect
California Journey
The trip to the park will take about five hours one way. The road will partially pass through rural areas - you will see endless California farms and learn how lemons, mandarins, strawberries, almonds, and olives are grown in California. Along the way, you will learn about the history of the state and be able to ask any questions.
Fairytale world of sequoias
We will drive through the park, walk through several groves with giant sequoias, and breathe the cleanest air. We will stroll inside a fallen trunk that once served as a home for a whole family of Wild West settlers. We will show you the two largest sequoias: General Grant (81.5 meters) and General Sherman (85 meters). We will tell you about the reasons for the phenomenal sizes and ages of these trees and their peculiarities. Additionally, in the park, you will see the most beautiful meadow and in the evening climb to the top of Moro granite rock, offering an unparalleled view of the entire park.
