About this experience
The tour will allow you to delve into the secrets and symbolism of the Sagrada Familia Temple - one of the finest works of the legendary Antoni Gaudi. We will explore the biblical stories on the grand facade, examine the fantastic architectural details, and discuss the history of the temple's creation, which Catalans already consider the face of Barcelona.
What to Expect
Symbology of the Sagrada Familia Facade
We will meticulously examine the grand facade of the Sagrada Familia, striking in its scale and incredible detail. You will not see such a variety of biblical stories in any other religious building! You will learn why the architect dedicated an entire facade to the Virgin Mary, why he adorned the temple with such unusual gargoyles. I will tell you about the meaning of each sculpture, help you read and decode all the inscriptions on the facades of the Sagrada Familia, one of which Gaudi depicted in Russian.
Fantastic architectural details
During the tour, we do not visit the temple, but that will not prevent you from learning about its interior decoration. We will discuss the tree-like columns of whimsical shapes, the play of light and shadow, the cosmic ceiling, and the kaleidoscopic stained glass windows. With my help, you will learn how the Sagrada Familia was designed and built from the inside.
Gaudi's work secrets
You will discover the secrets and details of the grand construction of the Sagrada Familia: how it happened that Antoni Gaudi became the project's architect, why the main entrance consists of seven doors and what trees, rainbows, and lambs have to do with it. I will tell you about Gaudi's life, where he drew inspiration from, and how he worked on the temple project. We will visit the architect's tomb in the crypt, where Catalans come every day to ask Gaudi for help. The temple is not yet completed, but even in the unfinished creation, one can feel the power of genius and his faith in the Lord.
