About this experience
This walk is perfect for those who have scheduled a date with the Eternal City during the pre-Christmas period. You will not only discover the main attractions of the city and charming spots off the tourist paths, but also immerse yourself in the holiday atmosphere on beautifully decorated streets and squares. You will encounter the greatest architectural monuments, walk through millennia of Roman history, and, of course, enjoy cozy Roman cafes and bars with hot chocolate and mulled wine.
What to Expect
History and City Landmarks
We will meet at the Capitoline Hill, where the history of modern Europe begins. Here you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the forums and the Colosseum and learn what they represented during the peak of the Roman Empire. You will visit the two-thousand-year-old Pantheon and toss a coin into the world's most famous fountain - the Trevi Fountain. Then, you will head towards the Spanish Steps through the shining holiday-lit streets.
Magnificent and Fairytale Squares
You will stroll through the baroque style 'superstar' square - Piazza Navona, where Rome's main Christmas market takes place. Here, you will immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere of the Eternal City: songs of street musicians, local souvenirs, and traditional Christmas sweets. You will admire the fountain by Bernini - the king of Roman sculpture - and recall scenes from favorite movies. After that, we will breathe in the pre-holiday atmosphere of Rome's Montmartre and visit the elegant Piazza del Popolo with its ancient obelisk, rich churches, and Christmas nativity scene.
Little Hedonistic Joys
What is Christmas without treats! I will show you my favorite cafes where you will enjoy a cup of delicious Italian coffee, have a snack, and relax in a cozy atmosphere. And this is important because the main goal of any journey and adventure is to enjoy the present moment! At the end of our walk, you will receive some tips from a local on how to pleasantly continue the evening in Rome :)
