About this experience
I invite you and your children on an exciting journey through the streets of Verona, where every corner holds a mystery. We will search for lions, dogs, and a cat, learning Italian words along the way. Entertaining stories will introduce children to the history and culture of the city, and my experience as a teacher will help them learn to find beauty in everyday details.
What to expect
Our route will take us from the Piazza Bra, the famous Verona Arena, through narrow streets to Juliet's house, then to Piazza Erbe, and will end at the Roman gates of Porta Borsari.
Children will see:
- Monument to King Vittorio Emanuele II
- Juliet Capulet's house and the famous balcony
- Map of the ancient Roman city
- Mazzanti House with frescoes from the 16th century
- 15th-century Della Ragione staircase
- House of the Veronese writer Emilio Salgari
And they will learn:
- Why the lion is a symbol of the Veneto region
- What secrets medieval animals keep
- Who the ammonites are - mysterious inhabitants of Verona
- How many ancient animals are enclosed in stone
How to prepare children for the excursion
By following these simple recommendations, you will make the excursion not only educational but also comfortable for your children:
1. Tell the children that they are going on an interesting walking tour. Encourage them to actively participate.
2. Explain to the children that the guide is like the captain of a ship on a sea of knowledge. He will be the guide, revealing new interesting facts and stories.
3. Encourage children to remember the questions that arise during the excursion and ask them at the end.
4. Prepare children that there will be no need to buy food during the excursion - this can distract from the process. It is better to eat well before starting to digest new information more easily.
Organizational Details
- The quest excursion will be interesting for families with children aged 5 to 12
- After the excursion, I will definitely recommend a restaurant where children will eat deliciously and well. This will be a great end to the adventure!
