About this experience
You will see Lake Como as you expect it: a water surface and mountains on the horizon; narrow streets running down; colorful houses with shutters; elegant architecture and cypresses. This journey includes a visit to the less crowded Varenna, a ferry ride to Bellagio, a stroll through this famous town, and, of course, stories about the history and features of the lake.
What to expect
Idyll of tiny Varenna
To let you fall in love with Como at first sight, we will first visit Varenna - a former fishing village, now a resort town, less touristy than Bellagio. In Varenna, narrow alleys will lead you to the lakeside promenade: colorful houses, restaurants with lace-like chairs, green-covered pergolas, hills with slender cypresses - a very photogenic place! In the church of San Giorgio, I will tell you about the original ancient frescoes, and then, at your request, we will visit the Villa Monastero with its magnificent botanical garden and talk about its unusual history.
Bellagio - must-see in Como
We will be taken to the most famous town on the lake by ferry. And this is also a sight to see because the views along the way are incredibly beautiful! In Bellagio, you will enjoy a walk through the aristocratic villa Serbelloni from the 15th century; a view from the cape, where two branches of the lake meet; and the basilica of San Giacomo. After strolling through the alleys of the Old Town with its medieval atmosphere, we will return to Varenna by ferry and drive back to Milan by car.
