About this experience
If you are a gourmet and a lover of oysters or, on the contrary, have never tried them but always dreamed of it, you should definitely visit the oyster farms of France: here these edible mollusks are especially tasty and affordable. You will see how oysters are grown and served, and, of course, taste this delicacy in combination with dry white wine. After a refined lunch, you will visit the Salvador Dali Museum or Chateau Pierre Richard to taste French wine of his brand.
What to Expect
How Oysters are Grown
We will visit the Lecat lagoon, where cozy bays are home to oyster farms, each with shops and tasting restaurants. Farm owners will greet you and take you behind the scenes of their stores, where you will see the entire journey of these appetizing mollusks from huge tanks with flowing water to restaurants in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and other parts of Europe, where they travel in personalized baskets. After that, you will return to one of the restaurants, with tubs of oysters of different sizes instead of bar counters.
Oyster Lunch with White Wine
You will be recommended the best oysters of the year (their taste does not always depend on size) served on a dish with ice and lemon already open, with various sauces and excellent cool white wine. If you are eating oysters for the first time, I will advise you on how to do it correctly. If you wish, you can buy farm products to go - oysters will be packed in airtight bags with ice. And if you do not know how to shuck shells, you will be taught and even given a special knife as a gift.
Chateau Pierre Richard or Figueras Museum
Having feasted on mollusks, you can visit the famous House-Museum of Salvador Dali in Figueres or go to Chateau Pierre Richard - this actor has his own brand of wine. On the way to the chateau, you will see a picturesque lagoon with pink water, where salt of the same color is extracted, and Richard's vineyards. On site, you can taste about 20 varieties of wine and purchase it, and, if you are lucky, chat with the actor himself, who often drops by the shop at the chateau.
