About this experience
Our meeting will be informal without delving into the history of Baku. The main value of the tour lies in the well-thought-out route, unusual angles, and vibrant locations for photo sessions. In the most picturesque part of the capital, you will discover filming locations of Soviet movies, appreciate the contrasts of ancient structures against modern skyscrapers, and explore corners with living 'decorations' of the Medieval East.
What to Expect
Film Locations
Take a stroll through the streets where famous Soviet films were shot. I will show you where the iconic phrases like 'Cigél-Cigél Ay-Lu-Lu' and 'Damn it!' echoed. I will also share insights on how directors used cinematic magic to transform the streets of Baku into lively alleys of Cuba in the movie 'The Amphibian Man'.
All Epochs of Baku in One Quarter
Witness the intriguing contrast between modern and medieval landmarks of Azerbaijan — Flame Towers and the legendary Shirvanshahs' Palace. For unique and vibrant shots, we will climb the roofs of the ancient Kasum-Bek bathhouse. I will guide you through the mysterious narrow lanes of the Old City and reveal angles that are hard to find on your own, especially if you are visiting the city for the first time.
Along the way, I will happily answer your questions about life in Baku from the inside — about the mentality of the locals, their traditions, culture, and daily life.
