Modica is one of the most mysterious and fantastic towns in southeastern Sicily. It belongs to a group of cities rebuilt in the architectural style of 'Sicilian Baroque' and, along with Ragusa Ibla and Scicli nearby, is protected by UNESCO.
Program
The old town is located in the mountainous canyon of Iblean mountains, and we will admire it from a panoramic viewpoint before descending by car.
You cannot be in Modica and not taste Modica chocolate, which is considered one of the best in Italy alongside the ones from Turin and Perugia. The secrets of its production will be revealed to you in the laboratory, where we will also try other Sicilian sweets.
We can also add a visit to a cheese factory with Alessandro, to taste Sicilian cheeses.
Then we will visit Ragusa, a city on the hill 15 km from Modica. We will walk through the mystical Ragusa Ibla, enjoy views of the Iblean mountains, and gourmets can dine in one of the local restaurants. Iblean cuisine is renowned not only in Sicily but throughout Italy. In Ragusa alone, there are 3 Michelin-starred restaurants!
Your trip to Ragusa can be combined with a tasting of olive oil or wine. I am flexible in tailoring the trip program and always listen to your preferences.
