As the Czechs say: 'Dreams come true in dreams or in Prague!' I will tell you about King Charles IV's desire to build a heavenly reflection of Jerusalem on the banks of the Vltava, take you through colorful medieval quarters, and reveal the key milestones in the formation of the state.
What to expect
History and legends of Prague
You will visit the largest castle complex in the world - Prague Castle, a symbol of the Czech Republic and the residence of the current president. You will enter the Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus and Adalbert, where all coronations took place, and hear the most fascinating legends and facts of Czech history. I will also show you the medieval Golden Lane, where alchemists sought the philosopher's stone and reveal the secret of turning mercury into gold.
On one of the most beautiful bridges in the world, I will show you a place where you can make a cherished wish. Then I will lead you along the Royal Route to the Old Town Square, where nearly 1000 years ago there was a bustling market. I will also tell the story of the creation of the astronomical clock, the Gothic church of Our Lady before Týn, and the Baroque cathedral of Saint Nicholas.
