What to expect
Character and appearance of the city
Elegant Düsseldorf is unlike any other city in Europe - stylish, multicultural, and vibrant, it captivates with the organic blend of medieval architecture and striking modern structures. Napoleon once called Düsseldorf 'little Paris,' and there is some truth to it: the city's residents resemble Parisians more than traditional Germans - they are friendly, enjoy life, and have an excellent sense of humor.
Modern architecture in the Media Harbor
Our tour starts at the splendid harbor - Media Harbor, which was given to young artists and designers for creative experiments. Here you will see colorful 'Flossis,' discover what the 'Iron for Clouds' and 'drunk cherry with a piece of ice and a tin can' look like, and gaze at the TV tower, providing a bird's-eye view of the city center!
Riverside walk
After enjoying the modern architecture, we will stroll along the beautiful promenade, lined with picturesque plane trees. And along the way, while viewing rows of bars and small shops, I will tell you about the major events in the city's history.
Contrasts of the Old Town
The road will subtly lead us to the Old Town that includes not only iconic medieval structures, which I will definitely tell you about, but also over 260 cozy bars and restaurants. I will show you where the best dark beer and signature herbal liqueur with a cheerful name are tasted, and explain why you shouldn't order the Kölsch beer from the local bartenders. You will learn about the fifth season of Düsseldorf, get closer to the favorite ruler of the locals, understand why the boys spinning the wheel are one of the symbols of the city, and hear legends hidden in the maze of narrow streets and alleys of the Old Town.
