About this experience
Tate Modern is not just a museum, but a real city within a city. I will guide you through it to introduce you to important works of abstract painting, tell you about the role of color and the history of modern art. In this museum, you will feel comfortable and easily engage in a dialogue with paintings, understand their nuances and meanings, and I will dispel any remaining uncertainties, answer any questions, and prove that Tate Modern itself is also a kind of exhibit.
What to Expect
Abstractionism and Color
In the museum halls, you will encounter canvases by Wassily Kandinsky, Josef Albers, Henri Matisse, Piet Mondrian, Mark Rothko, Pablo Picasso, and other artists whose work may be difficult for the uninitiated to decipher. You will realize the significant role of color in the works of abstractionists, how the attitude towards color changed at the beginning of the 20th century, and understand how abstractionism emerged as a new and bold direction in painting.
Museum as an Exhibit
With my assistance, you will learn not to get lost in the museum halls and individual exhibitions, where you can take a stroll on your own after the tour. You will hear stories about the gallery's founder, who donated the first collection to Tate Modern, along with his good name. I will tell you about the museum's building and when and how it emerged on the picturesque banks of the Thames. We will discuss the main monument of the present century - the Millennium Bridge - and its architectural solution. But most importantly, you will learn to interact with contemporary art and understand its essence.
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours, after which I will invite you for a cup of tea in the quiet museum cafe on the top floor: there you will enjoy a wonderful view of London. You can share your impressions, and we will discuss anything that remains unclear or is particularly interesting to you.
