About this experience
In ancient times, women gathered together and performed magic. With the help of ritual dolls, they attracted wealth, luck, and tranquility into their homes, summoned rain, and blessed the land. At the master class, I will not only show how to create such a helper, but also talk about Armenian traditions and legends. You will make the doll with your own hands and take it home as a souvenir.
What to expect
Get acquainted with Armenian traditions
From ancient times, people created ritual dolls and endowed them with magical power. For example, the Armenian doll Nuri was a symbol of luck, wish fulfillment, and fertility. The Nuri doll was also called the bride of rain – during drought, with her beauty, she could call for rain. Whereas the Utiz doll – from the Armenian word "utel" (to eat) – appeared during the Barerkendan holiday and symbolized the guardian of the hearth. At the master class, not only will you create a real ritual doll with your own hands, but you will also learn about the history of Armenia, its beautiful traditions, and legends. If desired, we can also make Russian bereginyas, I will tell more about them too.
Get acquainted with doll therapy
Doll therapy is one of the directions of art therapy: as a psychologist, I note that such a creative process positively affects a person's emotional state. Each participant of the master class will create their own doll, give it a name, and paint its face with special acrylic paints. You will take this beauty home as a souvenir, which will surely bring all the best to your home.
