What to expect
Soul and heart of Armenia
The main sacred center of any country occupies a special place in cultural heritage and national identity. Etchmiadzin has become not only a spiritual symbol for Armenia, the first to officially adopt Christianity as the state religion, but also a monument of exceptional importance for the entire Christian world.
In this sacred place, you will learn about the history of the Pontifical Cathedral of Etchmiadzin, a cathedral founded back in 301-303 AD! You will see the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians. Visit the Treasury, where the right hand of St. Gregory the Illuminator, a piece of Noah's Ark, the Holy Lance, and other priceless relics are kept. I will tell you about the most important ones during the tour. In addition, we will explore the early medieval monument - the extraordinary 7th-century Zvartnots Cathedral.
Wine and dried fruits of the Ararat Valley
To visit Armenia and not try the wine? Impossible! We will visit the 'Alluria' wine cellar, where you will taste the drink. And then we will head to the city of Armavir. Located in the Ararat Valley, at the southern foot of Mount Aragats, near the modern city are the ruins of ancient Armavir - the first capital of the Armenian kingdom. Local residents are engaged in the preparation of famous Armenian dried fruits. We will visit the market with you where natural, healthy, and tasty treats are sold. You will learn the secret of local products, different from dried fruits in other countries. And, of course, you will try the gifts of the sun.
