About this experience
‘Let us live, my Lesbia, and let us love!’ – Roman poet Catullus bequeathed. I invite you to an author's tour dedicated to love and everyday life in Ancient Rome. We will discuss everything: from kisses to strategies for conquering the opposite sex. At times, it may be a ticklish subject, but I will reveal it with elegant ease, avoiding vulgarity.
What to Expect
An Engaging Look at Ancient Rome
The main theme of our tour will be love in Ancient Rome. We will also touch on other aspects of daily life at that time. You will learn:
- What a man in love said to a woman
- What gastronomic delights ancient Romans indulged in
- Which holidays they celebrated and how they spent their leisure time
- What were the ideals of beauty in Ancient Rome
This conversation is impossible without 'living' artifacts of the past. I will show you the places where ancient Romans strolled, relaxed, entertained, and loved: the Colosseum, the Aventine and Capitoline Hills, the Forum Boarium, the Pantheon, the Circus Maximus, and others. I will share stories and legends associated with them.
