About this experience
The craftsmen and merchants guild quarter, a shelter for fishermen and sailors, has now become one of the trendiest neighborhoods in old Barcelona. The contrasts of El Born will whirl you in a dance of time: you will stroll through narrow streets where old buildings border with stylish bars or art galleries. And I will fill this dance with content - I will captivate you with stories about the life of the district.
What to expect
A labyrinth of eras and stories
On our rich walk, you will find yourself on the shortest and narrowest streets in the city and discover many attractions worthy of attention! You will say 'Hola' to the lively Luis Millet Square, wind through the twisty streets to the market with the colorful roof of Santa Caterina. You will peek into the unusual inner courtyards of the legendary Picasso Museum. Definitely explore the essential example of Gothic - Santa Maria del Mar church, and also observe the life of locals from the stone benches on Passeig del Born street. There are a couple more curious places for every taste and even for sweet tooths, but you will learn about them on the walk.
All about El Born and a bit about Barcelona
To make the walk stay in your memory, I will stop at the past of the brightest sights that will be on our way - believe me, it will be fascinating! You will hear the amazing story of the Picasso Museum, as well as details from the life of the extravagant millionaire artist. I will introduce you to the chronicles of the Santa Maria del Mar church, and, of course, tell you what life was like in medieval Barcelona and what the 13-year war for the Spanish inheritance led to.
