About this experience
This tour is not just about admiring nature. I will show you how the territories of Loo have changed from the times when powerful Ubykh clans lived here to the development of these places in Soviet years, the establishment of tea plantations and gardens. We will visit these plantations, but the main highlight is the ancient Adyghe sanctuary. You will see rare plants and then enjoy the landscapes from a height and appreciate the canyon views.
What to Expect
Proto-Adyghe Civilization
My story will begin from the times of the ancient civilization of brave and valiant Ubykhs - I will tell you about their way of life and customs, about how these territories looked in that era. I will take you to a ritual site that served as a sanctuary for the Adyghes in the past: it is here that the oldest artifact of the Proto-Adyghe period was found. We will touch upon the history of Loo land during the Roman Empire, Byzantium - and through the period of the Caucasian War and the USSR, we will reach the modern resort.
Introduction to Flora
We will also visit the ruins of a medieval temple, as well as visit tea plantations and feijoa plantations. I will talk about the variety of exotic plants growing in the territory of Loo and its surroundings - and introduce you to some of the endemics. You will also learn about the peculiarities of the soil: understand how the geological composition of the territory determines the lifestyle of people.
Landscapes of Loo
The culmination of the excursion will be a beautiful view of all the iconic lands of the Ubykhs: Mount Bykha, Mount Akhun, the Dagomys Valley. And the final touch - a picturesque canyon that will give us coolness on hot days and excellent photos to remember.
