Practically everything in Brazil - from music, dances, and traditional Brazilian cuisine to religions and beliefs - has African roots. On this tour, you will visit historically significant places for Afro-Brazilians and learn a lot about elements of their culture and the extent of its influence on the whole Brazilian world.
What to expect
History of the religious directions candomble and macumba.
- You will learn that although the official religion of Brazil is Christianity, and the main symbol of Rio de Janeiro is the statue of Jesus Christ, a large percentage of the population are quite peculiar Catholics, and Afro-Brazilian cults are firmly intertwined in their beliefs.
