About this experience
I will try to make you fall in love with the capital of Portugal. On a walk through the central districts, we will explore key landmarks, enjoy panoramas, and taste the ginjinha liqueur. You will hear the city's centuries-old history and experience the full range of colors and impressions of both modern and old Lisbon.
What to Expect
Authentic Alfama
We will stroll through a labyrinth of narrow streets, stone stairs between overhanging houses. Hanging laundry, shops and restaurants, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and grilled sardines - you will feel the charm of one of the oldest districts in Europe. You will learn about Lisbon's history, divided into the period before 1755 and after, discover the founder of seismology and how the city was reborn after the earthquake. And from the viewpoints, you will enjoy beautiful views of the city, the Tagus River, the port, and the red roofs of white houses.
Parade Baixa
We will admire the Cathedral, and near the walls of the Church of St. Anthony, I will tell you how mass celebrations in honor of this popular city patron saint take place. In the respectable Baixa district, you will notice a contrast with the old center: elegant houses, streets laid out like a ruler. If you wish, we will take the elevator to the viewpoint of the Triumphal Arch - I will tell you about the construction of elevators and the Santa Justa Lift.
We will walk along the magnificent Augusta street, where one of the most beautiful train stations and the Avenida Palace hotel are located. In Reshetadoresh Square, we will talk about Portugal's struggle for independence. You will also hear about the musical genre fado and taste the famous ginjinha - cherry liqueur.
You will see and appreciate the love and care of Lisbon residents for their past, traditions, and cultural heritage. And, hopefully, like me, you will fall in love with the capital of Portugal.
