About this experience
Do you prefer remote locations dominated by nature, where the chance to see wild animals is higher than seeing people? Then Shamsi Gorge is for you. Here you will enjoy views of mountains, forests, green pastures, and a river valley. Our guide will take you on an off-road journey along our developed route with stops and will tell you about the local places.
What to Expect
The road from Bishkek to the gorge will take about 2 hours. During this time, the guide will share interesting facts about the country, its nature, and history.
Upon reaching Shamsi, we will take a hike to fully enjoy the beauty around.
Then the guide will take you on our special route with 8 picturesque locations for you to admire green meadows, grazing sheep and horses, mountain river rapids, rocky cliffs, and forests. If you're lucky, you might see local fauna representatives - rock partridge, marten, hare, marmot, wild boar, and other animals!
There is also a so-called "Shah's Cottage" in Shamsi, built in 1968 for the Iranian Shah, who visited Kyrgyzstan. This is the final stop of our route, after which we will head back to the city.
