About this experience
Khinalig is an authentic Azerbaijani village that has been cut off from civilization by difficult-to-reach mountains for centuries. As a result, unique traditions, customs, and language have formed here. To understand them, we will visit the local historical and ethnographic museum and have lunch as guests of a village resident. We will stroll through the ancient winding streets and admire the houses built on the mountain slopes.
What to expect
Kuba city and Mount Beshbarmag
On the way to Khinalig, you will encounter amazing landscapes: fruit orchards, dense arched forests, gorges, waterfalls, rivers, and alpine meadows. We will also visit the district center Kuba, where you can visit a carpet factory. And we will stop at the mystical Mount Beshbarmag - its height is just over 500 meters, but no climber has been able to conquer it!
Colorful Khinalig
In Khinalig, we will have lunch at the home of one of the local residents, take a walk through the ancient narrow streets, and observe the local way of life. We will also examine the stone-built houses cascading over each other. Additionally, we will visit the historical and ethnographic museum with exhibits found during various periods of the village's existence.
