Join us on a rich journey combining fantastic landscapes and immersion into the colorful life of a high-mountain village. You will be impressed by the panoramas of the multicolored Khizi mountain and uncover the secret of its unusual appearance. Then you will head to the ancient village of Khinalug. The locals call themselves the Ket people and consider themselves descendants of Noah. We will visit the hospitable Uncle Gadji to experience their way of life!
What to Expect
Azerbaijani Mars
You will admire the colorful Khizi mountains, rich in minerals and agates. Scientists still cannot unravel the secret of this natural phenomenon. Why are the mountains simultaneously red, orange, white, and sometimes black? Let's discuss it on the tour! Along the way, you will also see the dense Gechresh forest and Mount Beshbarmag. Optionally, you can try delicious gutab with tea from a samovar – locals offer them right on the road.
Colorful Village Khinalug
Khinalug is the oldest high-mountain settlement in Azerbaijan. Just imagine: its age exceeds 5,000 years. Due to the inaccessibility and remoteness of the village, locals have managed to preserve authentic customs and a unique language that does not belong to any group. We will visit Uncle Gadji, who has turned his house into a museum of traditional life. He will tell you about the life of the Ket people and Khinalug.
