About this experience
This unconventional but very interesting route is offered to those who want to immerse themselves in the history of Montenegro, see the unique ancient cities in the south of the country, enjoy the landscapes with their fortress walls and relax on the largest sandy beach!
Program
You will visit the foot of Mount Rumia, where the semi-destroyed buildings of Old Bar are located. From this place you will have a beautiful view of the sea and the city of Bar, and I will also take you to the oldest olive tree, which is over 2000 years old. The city of Bar is famous for the production of olive oil, and it is here at the market that you can buy good homemade oil. The city center of Bar will be interesting for shopping lovers. Bar is a port city, so there are many shops where you can find some Italian items.
Next, we will drive to the city of Ulcinj - you will walk through its old cobblestone streets. Ulcinj is also popular for selling gold, here they sell gold from Albania, which is much cheaper than in Russia. Here, 5 centuries ago, the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes drew his inspiration, in the book "Don Quixote" there is a character named Dulcinea, which is how Ulcinj was called in the distant years when it belonged to Venice.
The next point of the excursion is the longest Montenegrin beach with sand of volcanic origin - Velika plaza. The sand on this beach is healing and people with skin diseases come here for treatment. Take an old swimsuit because this sand is difficult to wash off, but children will definitely enjoy this beach because of the shallow entry into the water and the very fine sand.
And after the 17-kilometer sandy strip along the Adriatic Sea, you will find yourself at the Bojana River and Ada Island in one of the local fish restaurants.
