What to Expect
Batumi from above and a beautiful drive
Start the day at the best viewpoint near the city - the majestic Sameba Cathedral. From here, you'll have a panoramic view of the Black Sea coast of Georgia and all of Batumi with its cozy suburbs nestled on the Adjara foothills. Take plenty of photos as I share stories about the city and the history of the cathedral.
The road to Mtirala Park will take you along the coast and through the center of Georgian tea-growing regions with tea plantations and factories. Along the way, we'll talk about the mentality and way of life of the Adjara residents - there's much to be surprised about!
Mtirala Park - a retreat for the soul and a feast for the eyes
You'll conquer the most beautiful route of the national park - the trail runs along a mountain river. We can always seek refuge from the scorching sun in the shade of rare plants from the glacial period, so you'll enjoy freshness and coolness. Among the greenery, you can ride a zipline, and after that, you'll cross a cable bridge over a rushing river. We'll relax by a mountain lake where you can swim and listen to intriguing stories about Mtirala, like the military radio base on the mountain and the largest airplane crash in Georgia.
As you proceed deeper through the jungles, you'll hear the loud noise of water. And you'll arrive at the final destination of the route - a picturesque waterfall. Here, you'll find natural tranquility, and the water droplets on your face will be refreshing after the walk.
Lunch in a picturesque spot
After visiting numerous restaurants in the area, I've chosen the best option - a trout farm by the mountain river. You'll see how trout is raised here, carp in the nearby lake, and rabbits in the enclosure. Relax in the arbors shaded by trees overlooking the beauty of Mtirala Mountain. Taste trout, delicious Georgian dishes, and Adjarian wine.
