About this experience
Eze is a small village between Nice and Monaco. Its narrow shady streets may seem almost always deserted. However, upon closer inspection, you discover souvenir shops, perfumery boutiques, famous Michelin-starred restaurants, and hotels in ancient castles. I will lead you through secret alleyways past ancient towers, castle ruins, a garden with exotic plants to the top of the hill, where you can enjoy a view all the way to Saint-Tropez.
What to Expect
Our tour will be a light and relaxed walk. I will show you the most beautiful panoramic views and tell you about the sights that once fascinated Nietzsche, Walt Disney, and members of the Swedish royal family.
- We will start near the famous Nietzsche path, where the author of the treatise "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" walked every day, drawing inspiration for his books. Following in the philosopher's footsteps is not easy for everyone: it requires exceptional physical fitness and at least an hour and a half. If you dare, after the tour, you can walk this path on your own.
- Passing through the main gates, we will enter the Old Town, where narrow streets diverge in different directions. Along one of the paths, we will reach Eze Castle, which was the residence of King William of Sweden for a long time.
- Next, we will see the famous hotel with a Michelin-starred restaurant, "Golden Lamb," where I will share the legend of this cult place and tell you about some of the "star" guests.
- Then we will arrive at the flattest place in the village - Place de la Plaine, where we will find the first drinking water source in the village.
- Midway through the tour, we will visit the oldest building in the village, the Chapel of the Penitent White, where we will see a 14th-century ancient cross. There, I will tell you about this brotherhood and its activities, which the order representatives continue to this day.
- Reaching the top of the hill, we will enter the Exotic Gardens, which amaze with magnificent views and an abundance of rare cactus plants. I will also introduce you to the work of sculptor Jean-Philippe Richard, whose works are displayed throughout the garden.
- At the end of the tour, we will visit the famous perfume factory "Fragonard" and explore its history. There, you will observe the creation of perfumery products with floral and citrus aromas.
