About this experience
Embark on a trip to the birthplace of French perfumery - the city of Grasse, made famous by the novel 'Perfume'. As you stroll through the streets infused with the scents of essences and explore the exhibition at the Fragonard Museum, you will learn about the history of this art from medieval times to the present day. You will also visit the charming Mougins - a magnet for many artists.
What to expect
From Nice - to beautiful Grasse, the 'Roman of Aromas'
In the picturesque town where the events of 'Perfume' take place, you will walk along the beloved paths of Bunin and Rubens and hear about the evolution of Grasse from an abandoned village to the center of the global fragrance industry. I will tell you about resourceful medieval craftsmen, the first perfume factories, and the crazy success of products that were supplied throughout Europe. At the Fragonard Museum, you will learn about the intricacies of creating scents, discover various essences and flower extracts. You will also visit Notre-Dame-du-Puy Cathedral, where you will examine Rubens' last three posthumous works. And all this time you will be accompanied by beautiful views and atmosphere - the city is located on hills and the air is consistently filled with the scents of flowers and lavender.
Mougins - open-air art exhibition
A pleasant bonus will be a visit to the quiet, cozy town, planned in the shape of a seashell, where many Impressionist artists found inspiration. On the streets, you will see the works of modern masters and observe their creative process, learn about the period when Pablo Picasso stayed here, his meeting with photographer Andre Villers, and the museum where the artist's photos are exhibited. Along the way, you can also pick up some original items to decorate your interior.
During the walk in Grasse, I will also suggest where you can create your own fragrance composition and how to plan this event wisely.
