About this experience
The old village of Eze is one of the most beautiful on the French Riviera. It is located at an altitude of 427 meters, offering a magnificent panorama of the Mediterranean Sea. In addition to a classic stroll through the cozy stone streets of the village, I propose hiking around it. There are two easy routes to choose from - a ascent to Bastide mountain or to Fort Revere.
What to expect
Two route options:
Bastide mountain and the village of Eze. We will start by climbing to a height of 570 meters - to the top of Bastide mountain. From this height, you will see the town of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Saint-Hospice peninsula, and the famous villa La Florentina. We will organize a small picnic to rest and enjoy the moment. Then we will descend to the village of Eze for a leisurely stroll.
Please note: the mountain trail is winding, consists of rocks and irregularities. Sometimes it will pass above a steep cliff. The ascent and descent will take a total of 1-1.5 hours.
Fort Revere and the village of Eze. First, we will climb to the fort, which was built in 1879-85 at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. There is an excellent park area near it, where we will have a small picnic and admire the breathtaking panoramic views of the coast, including Eze and Cap-Ferrat. After a break, we will descend to Eze and stroll through the village. The trail is comfortable and picturesque, with occasional irregularities. The ascent and descent will take a total of 1.5-2 hours.
