About this experience
You will see the best of what Catalonia has to offer - the Mediterranean gem Barcelona and the magical Montserrat mountain, where people from all over the world come to visit the Black Madonna. I will tell you why Gaudi wanted to leave in the middle of building Casa Mila, and show you a house with walls that tell a fairy tale.
What to Expect
Montserrat - a sacred wish and a viewpoint
Let's start with magic - we will go to the Montserrat mountain. You will be charged with wonderful energy and make a wish to the Black Madonna. Enjoy the incredible views from the observation decks, located almost on the threshold of the heavenly dome. Visit the local market with farmers, where you will be treated to cheeses and honey with unique notes of local herbs.
Barcelona - architecture and legends
Filled with energy, you will return to Barcelona. Here you will find:
- Placa d'Espanya and viewpoint. From a bird's eye view, you will see the city and Montjuic mountain, where the National Palace rises elegantly.
- Sagrada Familia (outside, but optionally you can go inside, as well as in other museums). You will uncover the secrets left by the great architect Gaudi on the facades.
- Casa Mila (outside). You will hear about the scandalous stories that made Gaudi stop building for anyone and almost leave in the middle of the project.
- Casa Batllo (outside). This is the most famous house in the city. On the facade, you will read the main fairy tale of Barcelona and learn why the residents did not use Gaudi's furniture.
- Cathedral of Barcelona. I will tell you why the main cathedral took much longer to build than the Sagrada Familia.
- Gothic Quarter. Atmospheric winding streets, Roman walls, and the Middle Ages - this is where a large part of the life of old Barcelona flowed.
- Royal Palace (outside). I will reveal medieval norms and describe how Columbus was received in the palace, and justice was served within its walls.
