About this experience
We are heading to Old Russa - the city where Fyodor Mikhailovich found his resting place. It is also the place where he wrote his final novel "The Brothers Karamazov". In this town, the writer aimed to "speak out in full". On the way to Russa, you will listen to the audio story "Dostoevsky. Roads... to immortality", and in the city, you will walk through the iconic places accompanied by an audioguide.
What to expect
The path to Old Russa
The road from Veliky Novgorod to Old Russa will take approximately 1.5 hours. Our original audio story "Dostoevsky. Roads... to immortality" performed by actors of the Novgorod Drama Theatre will make the trip special.
You will:
- hear an interesting story about Dostoevsky's life and creative stages
- try to understand the origins of his genius
- realize why Fyodor Mikhailovich's works are as relevant today as they were a century and a half ago
Dostoevsky's sites
In Old Russa, you will see iconic places related to Dostoevsky's family and his last major work - the novel "The Brothers Karamazov". Among them:
- Dostoevsky's House Museum
- Grushenka's House
- Museum of the novel "The Brothers Karamazov"
- Cathedral Square and the Water Tower
- Church of St. George the Victorious
- Church of St. Minas the Great Martyr
You will receive all the information with the help of an audio guide recording of the author's excursion "Russa through the eyes of Anna Grigoryevna". Duration - 2 hours.
Then you will have free time to visit the museums of Old Russa (audio guide included in the price), take a walk around the city, have lunch, and buy souvenirs.
Organizational details
- The excursion will be interesting for children aged 10-12 years
- On some days, it is possible to visit only one of the museums dedicated to the work of F.M. Dostoevsky
- The writer's House Museum is closed on Mondays and the last Thursday of the month. The Museum of the novel "The Brothers Karamazov" - on Tuesdays and the last Wednesday of the month.
- Entrance tickets to the museums are to be purchased independently
