About this experience
I invite you to a walking sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik, during which you will get acquainted with its iconic attractions, learn the most interesting facts about the city's history from its foundation to the present day, about the coexistence of multiple religions, traditional crafts, and the features of local gastronomy.
What to Expect
Dubrovnik
The fortress walls surrounding Dubrovnik are considered the best-preserved in Europe. The old city of Dubrovnik itself is like a frozen medieval time. Walking through it, you can get lost in time. An extraordinary feeling: old fortress walls, terracotta roofs, and right next to them - satellite dishes and freshly laundered white sheets hanging to dry. The old city is not just a monument - it not only preserves the breath of centuries but also lives with the ordinary life of today: ringing with children's voices, bustling with daily chores, preparing lunch, and hanging washed laundry between ancient walls.
During the city tour, I will talk about its most interesting components:
- History. The city's foundation, fortress walls, their significance and uniqueness, earthquake consequences (view of the city before and after), war (history of destruction), and modern times.
- Religion. The Jewish Ghetto, Catholicism, and Serbian Orthodox Church, a museum with a collection of Orthodox icons (optional tour).
- Gastronomy. History and traditions of local cuisine, wine production, olive oil, local desserts, and liqueurs, unique features of traditional dishes. Lunch at one of the restaurants (depending on your interests) in the old city.
- Crafts. Ethnographic Museum, foundry production museum, jewelry craft, features of port trade, maritime museum (optional tour).
Depending on your interests and desires, we can delve deeper into a specific topic.
