What to expect
History and masterpieces of Santa Croce
Santa Croce is famous for the frescoes by Giotto, the tombs of great Italians, and numerous chapels of wealthy families. For example, one of the largest chapels was built by Brunelleschi. During the tour, you will see the frescoes in the chapels of the Pazzi and Peruzzi families, painted by Giotto, and admire other altar paintings created by the best masters of Florence - Giovanni da Milano, Taddeo, and Agnolo Gaddi. They are truly remarkable!
Legendary tombs and monuments
You will also see the tombs and monuments dedicated to great figures of art: the sculptor, painter, and architect Michelangelo Buonarroti, the astronomer and physicist Galileo Galilei, the poet Niccolini (whose monument inspired the famous Statue of Liberty), the politician Machiavelli, the musician Gioachino Rossini, and many other equally worthy people - I will tell you all about them in detail.
