About this experience
You will see unique collections of crowns, regalia, and relics of the empire reflecting over 1000 years of European history, collections of imperial authority attributes, regalia of the Holy Roman Empire, and treasures of Burgundy. I will tell you the most interesting stories about luxurious exhibits, great events, and famous people associated with them.
Program
Among other things, we will pay special attention to the following exhibits:
- Spear of Destiny The famous Spear of Destiny, which according to legend made its owner invincible. From the Middle Ages to the present day, it has been considered the main symbol of a 'true' ruler, sought after by Napoleon and Hitler.
- Imperial Regalia Here you will also see the crown of the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation (10th century), the imperial cross (11th century), and the coronation mantle (12th century). One of the most representative regalia of the Austrian Empire is the magnificent crown of Emperor Rudolf II - one of the brightest examples of European jewelry art.
- Napoleon's Legacy One of the treasure rooms is dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Marie Louise. You will see their wedding portraits, as well as their son's silver (270 kg of pure silver) cradle.
- Treasures of Burgundy (emerald 2680 carats), once the richest duchy in Europe, belonging to Austria, are also here. I will tell you about the Order of the Golden Fleece (15th century), its history and legends, including the story of the beautiful princess who still keeps the Golden Fleece in the city on the Black Sea coast.
