About this experience
This journey to the homeland of my ancestors, the green Lori, the kingdom of untouched nature. Here is the health resort dendropark 'Sochut', which is especially good during the pollination period, May-June. The Temple of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the medieval fortress of the Bagratids above the gorge, the wonderful canyon with cliffs and multicolored lakes, and the monastery of Gnevank - the day will be full of beauty. What to Expect
Lori Region - Armenian Switzerland
- Mountain-forest dendropark 'Sochut', or 'Sosnyaki'. During the pollination of pines and firs (May-June), the air here is especially healing. But even in other months, the park is a great place to breathe! You will be surrounded by more than 500 species of plants. And you can taste the delicious spring water.
- Ruins of the Church of Tormak, end of the 4th century
- Temple of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker 1846
- Fortress of Lori-Berd, or Ashotaberd. Picturesque ruins from the 10th century over the Dzoraget gorge.
- Multicolored lakes of the village Vardablur
- Charming hotel rooms in the forest in the style of log cabins
- Arevatsag Canyon with the amazing Tsits kar rock
- Monastery of Gnevank 7th century (under restoration) - like a yellow-orange flower blooming among the green mountains
- Spring at the mountain serpentine, built by my great-grandfather
Organizational Details
- Drive to the dendropark without stops - ~2 hours, with 1 stop - 2.5 hours. Return journey with refueling - ~2 hours.
- The tour can be conducted for groups of up to 17 people
- The price includes a transfer in comfortable transport (sedan/minivan/minibus), services of a driver and a professional history guide, water, Wi-Fi, sweet treat of dried fruits, drone video shooting
