About this experience
Embark on an amazing journey into the world of fragrances and aromas. The art of perfumery originated in Florence in the 13th-14th centuries and later was brought to France by Catherine de' Medici. I will take you to an ancient pharmacy where 'enfleurage' was invented, a perfume museum, a perfume boutique, and also to a wine shop.
What to Expect
Ancient Pharmacy and Enfleurage
On our route, you will visit the original building of the oldest pharmacy in the city, where the enfleurage method, vividly depicted in the movie 'Perfume,' was born. You will see the tools used by monks to create creams, medicinal mixtures, and perfumes.
Museum of Scents - Natural and Synthetic
I will take you to the museum of scents by the famous Florentine perfumer Lorenzo Villoresi, where you will explore a variety of scents, from flowers and fruits to animalic and woody aromas. Additionally, synthetic scents invented by humans are also presented here.
Perfume Shop and Personalized Scent
We will visit a shop run by another world-renowned perfumer who has created numerous scents for homes, famous brands, and hotel chains. You can either try ready-made scents or arrange a meeting to create a personalized perfume.
Niche Perfumery Boutique
Here, experienced experts will guide you on how to choose a fragrance. You will find brands such as Casamorati, Xerjoff, Widian, Roja, Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris, Memo, Kilian, Ex Nihilo, Nobile 1942, Cire Trudon, Alexandre. J, and others.
Wine Tasting at a Wine Shop
To conclude, we will head to a small wine shop where you will taste several local wines. This is also an opportunity to test your ability to identify aromas in wine.
