About this experience
We have prepared for you an action-packed one-day jeep tour that reveals the rich history of Oman and its fantastic landscapes. First, you will visit the main attractions of the ancient city of Nizwa: the fort and the authentic eastern market. Then you will head out to explore the local Grand Canyon - a treasure trove of breathtaking landscapes.
What to expect
Nizwa - the ancient capital of Oman
You will visit the colorful morning market, where fish, meat, vegetables, ceramics, jewelry, and souvenirs are sold. Stroll through the ancient fort with numerous rooms, passages, and towers. Enjoy the magnificent view of the city and the surrounding mountains from it. We will tell you who and when built the fortress, how it is related to the Ya'aruba dynasty, and what helped it resist enemies.
Grand Canyon and Sheikh's House-Museum
After a walk in Nizwa, we will head towards Jebel Shams mountain. Along the way, we will stop in the village of Al-Hamra and visit the sheikh's house-museum: it will introduce you to the authentic way of life of Omanis. The second half of the day will be spent in the Grand Canyon. There are many hiking trails of varying difficulty - we will help you choose the ones that suit you. Each of them will lead you to mesmerizing views of the surreal valleys.
