What to expect
Baku: introduction
We will start the walk at the fortress walls: you will learn about their construction, symbolism, and the characteristics of the material. I will reveal the tricks used by rulers in the Middle Ages and tell you how Baku was divided into the inner and outer parts.
We will admire the ancient mosques and talk about religion in Azerbaijan. We will examine the merchants' houses - whose is better? You will learn about what a caravanserai and Eastern courtyards are, find out about the construction of the Maiden Tower - and about the legends of the building with cats. And, of course, you will walk through the streets where famous Soviet films such as 'Amphibian Man', 'Doctor Aybolit 66', and 'The Diamond Arm' were shot.
Carpet Museum and friendly tea ceremony
Strolling along the Primorsky Boulevard, enjoying Baku's 'Little Venice', we will reach the Carpet Museum. Bright colors and intricate patterns - I will tell you about carpet-weaving schools, motifs, and ancient traditions.
And then we will relax over a cup of tea, watching the city's daily life. We will talk about Baku cuisine, holidays, and leisure. And, of course, we will discuss what else is worth seeing in the city.
At the end of the tour, you will receive a gift from the guide.
