About this experience
The excursion is suitable for travelers who appreciate art, are interested in the history of carpets, and want to expand their knowledge on this topic. You will visit the Carpet Museum, examine a private collection of unique carpet products and have a chat with an art historian about the history and secrets of the national Azerbaijani craft.
What to expect
- Our first location is the Carpet Museum. We will inspect the building from the outside, take a walk through the nearby National Seaside Park. We will discuss the author of the museum building project and the oldest Azerbaijani carpet, which is kept in the Hermitage.
- In the Old City, we will visit shops selling ancient and modern carpets. You will be able to interact with local sellers.
- We will visit a shop showcasing some of the best silk carpet samples. They are available for purchase along with a certificate from the manufacturer.
- Our program will conclude with a meeting with an art historian. You will view a private collection of unique carpet products and listen about carpet weaving and the mysteries of this intricate craft over a cup of aromatic Azerbaijani tea.
