In the historic center of Amman, you will see the citadel, the Umayyad palace complex, and the ruins of the Byzantine church. You will enjoy the city from above and explore the Roman Amphitheater. Additionally, we will visit the Museum of Folk Traditions: its permanent exhibition is dedicated to the costumes, jewelry, utensils, clothing, and headwear of locals.
Amman through the centuries
We will uncover the rich history of Amman: from the Stone Age to the present day. You will learn why the city was once renamed Philadelphia, how ancient culture influenced its appearance, and who decided to erect Roman colonnades, amphitheaters, and sculptures here. We will also talk about modern traditions and cultural characteristics of the Jordanian capital.
