You will admire the highest mountain ranges in Western Europe without straying far from the comfort of the big city. You can hike up the mountain or drive to it - along the way you will see cozy villages, and at the top you will be greeted with delicious coffee and traditional local pie.
Program
Geneva is a small city surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes, very diverse and attractive to visit in the warmer months (from March to November). This especially applies to Saleve Mountain, located in the nearby France. From there, at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level, you will have truly magical views of Geneva and Lake Geneva. Weather permitting, from Saleve you can enjoy views of the Mont Blanc, Les Aravis, Le Born, and Le Bozh mountain ranges.
This mountain, unique in its geological characteristics, serves as a kind of training ground and sports club for the people of Geneva: paragliders take off from here, rock climbers scale cliffs, mountaineers drive in hooks, adrenaline junkies ride down on mountain bikes, and hundreds of ordinary citizens of all ages tighten their boots, grab poles, a backpack with water and a sandwich, and set off from the very foot of the mountain along marked hiking trails for a real mountain ascent.
The hike up the mountain takes 1.5-2 hours, the descent takes 1 hour. If you want to join the Swiss in their favorite leisure activity - hiking in the mountains, you can choose this option, you just need to have mountain boots and favorable weather. At the top, conquerors of the mountain will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Geneva and the lake, as well as delicious coffee with a traditional French pie in a small restaurant at the top of Saleve.
If hiking in the mountains is not your calling, we will drive to the top of the mountain along a mountain road that passes through quaint French villages, and get out of the car at several viewing platforms.
