About this experience
Italy is not only the noise of coastal waves and the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea. In the Umbria region, on top of a hill stands the stone town of Spello with yellow houses and bright plants. Nearby is the city of Assisi, whose streets have preserved a medieval look. These places can be called not only the heart, but also the soul of Italy, forever preserved in the walls of ancient buildings.
What to expect
Assisi - ancient architecture and Saint Francis
In this city, you can feel spiritual harmony and admire ancient architecture. Pilgrims claim that the sights of Assisi are filled with divine breath. The main one is the Basilica of Saint Francis. Its facades surprise with eclecticism, combining Romanesque and Gothic styles, and the interior decoration impresses with luxury.
You will also touch the walls of the monumental citadel of Rocca Maggiore from the 13th century, climb the watchtower, and enjoy breathtaking views of green valleys. And also - if desired, you can taste local cheeses and wines.
Spello - flowers and city gates
The silence of mountain ranges, the grandeur of historical monuments, the friendliness and hospitality of the locals make this city a small oasis in a big noisy country. Cozy streets sharply run up or down, embracing with their floral decoration.
The beauty of the city is complemented by historical sights - the monumental Gates of Venus, medieval gates of San Angelo, remnants of the northern city gates, ancient churches, and towers.
