About this experience
We invite you to a one-day journey from Prague to Germany - through the ancient picturesque land of Saxony! You will visit Moritzburg hunting castle on the banks of the Elbe and touch its centuries-old history. And then you will head to Meissen - a small magical town, the main symbol of which has become the fortress on the rock Albrechtsburg. We will definitely climb up to it.
What awaits you
Moritzburg hunting castle
This is one of the most beautiful castles in Germany, picturesquely located on the banks of the Elbe just 15 km from Dresden. You will admire its luxurious interiors and decipher the features of German Baroque through its example. You will also hear a lot of interesting facts about the Saxon electors - lovers of luxury, royal hunting, and masquerade balls. We will also tell you about the filming of which popular Czech-German fairy tale took place here.
Meissen - the first capital of Saxony
Meissen is one of the coziest towns in Germany. You will climb to the fortress-palace Albrechtsburg on a rock, admire the ancient Gothic cathedral, and walk down the city through the winding medieval streets captured in the film '17 Moments of Spring'. And Meissen is also the birthplace of European porcelain. You will visit a porcelain manufacture where dishes are still hand-painted. We will observe this mesmerizing process!
