About this experience
You will see all the main attractions of Izmir, enjoy its panorama from the height of the ancient tower and find out why it is called the 'olive tree capital'. You will also taste local delicacies, walk among ancient ruins, and feel the bustle of eastern life at the Kemeralti market.
What to expect
Izmir's 'must-see' spots
Izmir is an ancient and incredibly charming city. We will start our acquaintance with the Armenian district where a pivotal moment in the city's history took place. You will also stroll through the ruins of the ancient Agora of Smyrna and immerse yourself in Izmir's ancient past. Then we will climb up Mount Pagos to the fortress and visit the panoramic elevator square in the Jewish district.
We will enjoy walnut Turkish coffee together at the Kemeralti market. You will learn about Turkish wedding customs, see traditional costumes, and then visit the Ottoman hotel. Our tour will end in the secular district, reminiscent of Miami.
Tasty Izmir
Izmir is a true paradise for foodies. It has a very distinctive cuisine, different from other regions of Turkey, with plenty of fish, vegetables, and olive oil. You will have the opportunity to try rice-stuffed mussels, 'Izmir meatballs', and delicious pastries. And we will definitely visit the Kemeralti market, where I will help you buy natural olive oil, soap, and other specialties at local prices.
