About this experience
This is not a deep dive historical tour that requires a day off afterwards. It's a casual stroll in Istanbul with a local resident who loves her city and wants to show it from a different perspective. Don't worry, architecture and historical facts will also be included. We'll walk through the neighborhoods of Eminonu, Karakoy, Galataport, Kuzguncuk, take a ferry ride across the Bosphorus, and indulge in sweets!
What to Expect
- Shehzade Mehmet Mosque – the mosque of the son of the great Sultan Suleiman. I will introduce you to the architecture of the Ottoman Empire era. Show you the distinctive details of the mosque and talk about the religious peculiarities
- Suleymaniye Mosque Complex located on one of Istanbul's hills, offering a mesmerizing panoramic view of the city
- Eminonu District. Here we'll find the historical Egyptian market, have a taste of Turkish coffee, and enjoy sweets in a special atmosphere
- Karakoy District – modern, youthful, with numerous cafes. If desired, we can have a famous fish wrap for a snack. Appreciate the architectural diversity of the area
- Galataport – a promenade with a magnificent view of the Bosphorus Strait. We'll cross it by ferry to reach the Asian side of the city
- Kuzguncuk – a district with a unique atmosphere and colorful houses
I will share with you the city's history from the Byzantine times to the present day. Tell you about family life under the Ottoman Empire, what values were cherished.
